Boot in Safe Mode:

[Hold Down: shift key upon boot]: In Safe Mode, Third-Party apps to not open at login, and broken files are often fixed (i.e. caches). Once booted into it, restart and then boot up normally. See if all is fixed.

Perform as instructed here: Terminal “open” any image results in “Preview quit unexpectedly" - Ask Different Seems there are some various caches(temporary system files) that you need to rid of. That link shows it all. Please report back how it works.
