How to Quit Apps on iPhone 8 in iOS 14.4.2
Double tapping the Home button doesn't seem to work.

Got it working: Settings > General > Accessibility, then turned on Reachability

Rebooted, tried double tapping Home, tried 3D Touch (perhaps I didn't do it correctly) but none of this worked.
This may be related: Often I have trouble taking a Screen shot. Apple Store checked it out a few months ago and said everything was OK.
You gain nothing by quitting an app. You use more battery.
I need to Quit when I believe an App is using too much battery after I hit Stop — specifically RadioGarden

No new methods have been introduced to access the open app switch menu. iOS 14.4.2 is bug fixes only. Try rebooting your phone and see if that solves the problem.
Alternatively, you can make a 3D Touch at the edge of your iPhone screen, that way you can also access the app switch menu. But just try a reboot so you can use the home button.
