Hi DeanBJ,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue when attempting to update your iPhone 7 Plus. We're happy to help.

Are you attempting to update using the assistance of a computer? If so, we recommend following the steps outlines in the article here: If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

While the exact error isn't listed, you can also test the steps in the sections "Make sure that your device can communicate with Apple servers" and "Check your security software" from the article here: iOS update and restore errors

Cheers!

Hi, i think this may help.

How to solve it.

  1. Make sure your network does not have any restrictions (e.g. work network sometimes have, home network is best network to use.
  2. Make sure your computer does not have any policies that blocked or firewall, antivures that blocked Itunes andupdate, e.g. if you have work PC, you will get problem because that they are not made to modify on and have a lot of restrictions, so select home PC and if you don't have. ask a friend to borrow for few ours
  3. i assume that Ipad/Iphone is already on recovery mode because you receiving error 75, so restart your PC, start Itunes.
  4. Connect it to Ipad and select "Update" and not "reset"
  5. If you get error 75 again, repeat the process until the Ipad updates OR you only receive option "reset" then select reset

The above step 4 and 5 are very important. "update" until there is now more updates then select "reset"

Quick explanation.

When you restore a iOS device, there is to options that pop up in iTunes, "Update" and "Restore", sometimes if you choose restore first, they cause some issues for some reason and shows error 75. What you need to do is that you make sure you select "update" and let the Ipad update to the latest ios. Then try again, if there is any new update, select update again and again until there is no more updates. Then, select reset.
