How do I reset the device to get my phone to be the remote I lost the remote and I know my phone works as a remote and I no longer have the box with the QR code

Set up the Apple TV Remote on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Both devices have to be on the same home network already.
No need to reset anything.
