Mac Mini M1 2020 and SSD trim support?
Hi folks,
I have Mac Mini M1 from 2020 and I just activated SSD Trim support. Do I need Trim support on such machine or not?
Thanks!

The current M1 Mini has a built in SSD that can not be removed (permanent) so it's automatically running just fine without any TRIM commands.
The only time you need to enable TRIM is for certain SSD that are replacing older Mini SSD.
TRIM was vital in the early days of SSDs but these days, TRIM
can actually degrade the performance of modern SSDs as
they have very effective methods of maintaining their performance
and TRIM only gets in the way.
Trim support is not needed with your M1 Mini.
It's only used if you change out the SSD with a non Apple SSD in other older Mini with replaceable SSD...
Thank you for the swift reply, just disabled trim :)
Do you have a possible explanation why is that?
Why newer Apple SSDs don't need trim?
Thanks.
If Apple decides trim is required on its own SSD it will automatically be implanted on any Mac. You do not have to make any changes on your own.
