Can’t use headphone accommodations

I’m using EarPods (with a lightning adapter), both from Apple and not some knock-off. I can’t use headphone accommodations however. Any way I can fix this?

Hello shmackbob,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having trouble using Headphone Accommodations. We're happy to help. Looks like this feature is available for Apple EarPods (with 3.5 mm Headphone Plug or Lightning Connector). To confirm, do you have the latest version of iOS 14 installed? This can help us to isolate any software issues. In case you need to update, back up your iPad first to secure your data.
