Midi Transmitter

I recently bought an adaptor for my brand new map USBc to USB, so that I could plug in my midi keyboard (I have a chord that will go from my piano keyboard to USB). For some reason, the midi information still doesn't show up when I try it on Soundtrap / other recording software. Wondering if there is a way to do this...
