External Microphone Not Detected!!

I have a 2014 MacBook Pro, and I'm trying to use a brand new external Takstar mic. I've tried EVERYTHING I found in blogs and videos, nothing is working. The MacBook still only recognizes "internal" mic. I need a work-around, or ingenious troubleshoot method, to force this thing to work!

Most advice is that "volume" is too low in Audio Midi setup, which is not helpful since the mic is not RECOGNIZED in the first place! I've also tried: TRS-TRRS adapter, Mic/Headphone splitter arrangement, testing inputs in different app (Audacity) and NOTHING works. I need someone to think outside the box that knows more than I.

  • Thanks for any help!!
