Is it possible to work with the macbook pro m1 plugged in regularly ?, Is it harmful to the battery ?, What should be the frequency of battery discharge?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

You can leave the computer plugged in whenever convenient to do so. Neither the computer nor battery will be damaged by leaving it plugged in. Leaving it plugged in reduces the rate of accumulation of battery cycles.

As @bobthefisherman says, you can indeed leave it plugged in all the time.


People still seem to think batteries should be emptied completely before recharging etc, but the good news is, you don't. And, as the previous reply says, if you leave the machine plugged in it reduces the cycle amount, which means your battery stays healthier for longer - in some cases still running happily after 10 + years (although with slightly less autonomy).
