Why does Apple TV forces paid networks?

I stream all the shows/networks I want to watch. But I’m already paying Hulu in big part because Iike watching Saturday Night Live. But when that show pops up on my Apple TV, it ask me to sign up into the USA Network/NBC app to watch it from my AppleTV. I can still click away and go to the Hulu app to watch it but it’s really annoying. What’s up with that? If I want perfect integration I need to pay more? Not my fault Apple really missed the curb on online tv steaming. You guys were ahead and let it die. Now get with the program if you want people to keep buying your products. :/

So are you implying USA network aka NBC is an Apple Product? I have shows streamed on Prime video that come up as options on the Apple TV search. But if I search for Saturday Night Live which is available on Hulu, it’s asking me to signup for the USAnetwork App. I’ve owned only Apple products ever since the first Macintosh computer so I’m not trying to argue here, just looking for a logical answer. As for your statement of “Apple does not know” well maybe they should. Google probably have a way to know what I watch on my AppleTV and ask to my Apple HomePod, so why Apple wouldn’t?

No, it means that USA Network (aka NBC) support tv app, the search can see the content that network is offering.

For example: Some of the tv-shows/movies shows up in more than 1 network on my TV and not on others.

So the simple explanation is: If a network do not support tv app then Apple has no way to search their content.

Some network plays the hard ball (ex. Netflix) and streaming is disabled.
