How do I recover corrupted files on my iPad from notability?

I recently got the Notability Mac app after having it on my IPad for years. I also upgraded my iCloud storage because it was full. I turned on iCloud sync in notability for both devices and it didn't seem to be working so I followed notability's troubleshooting steps. In the end it did work, but now half my notability files on my iPad are missing! I dont have them backed up to google drive in their latest format since my google drive became full about a month ago. Luckily I can spotlight search the files on notability but when I try to open it on the app it says "Error opening note NAME." I think the file may be corrupted but is there any way to recover it?? I need these notes for school, and I'm missing a huge chunk of them :(

Hey there neala208,

We understand you're unable to open files from a third party app on your Mac and they are missing on your iPad. We'll be happy to help.

One option would be to check for a an iPad backup that has those files. You can locate backups with the steps here: Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Note that if iCloud was syncing with that app during the time of the backup, the files would not be in the backup itself.

If you find a backup to use, restore with the steps here: Restore or set up your device from an iCloud backup

When you restore, your device will returned to the state it was in when the backup was made so there could be some data loss.
