Closed Display Mode & Battery Life

Does constantly using a MacBook Pro (2020) in closed display mode damage the battery life over time? I ask because closed display mode only works if the MacBook is plugged into the charger. I plan to use this mode often.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

You can leave the computer plugged in when necessary or convenient to do so. Leaving the computer plugged in will not damage the computer or the battery.
