YouTube app location won’t save

I have an Apple TV A1625 with the YouTube app installed.

for some reason, the ‘location’ is constantly set as United States when I’m actually in the UK.

I can change the location in the app, but when I close the app or turn the Apple TV off it defaults back to United States again.

my Apple TV itself is set to UK, my YouTube account (which my Apple TV is signed in on) is set to UK as well.

I’ve reset the app, signed out, signed back in.. yet I still get defaulted to the United States when I really don’t want to be, as it just means I see US news which Is irrelevant to me.

After reviewing your post, it seems like you are running into some location issues with your YouTube app. We definitely understand that being unable to keep your location set can be a concern and we'd love to help. If your Apple TV is set to the UK, but the app itself keeps reverting, we’d advise checking with the app manufacturer to determine if there a reason that your account doesn’t keep your change.


It would also be good to check your other Apple devices to make sure they are all set to the correct country as well. Has everything been restarted? If needed this article details the correct steps to change your Apple TV region format: Change the language or region format on Apple TV.
