Siri Language - Difference Between English (United Kingdom) and English (Ireland)

I'm assuming when you set the language for siri (not the siri voice), it is tuned to understand different accents of english. I.e. to better understand people speaking english but with an irish accent?

Doe the siri voice have any impact on this, or just preference of the user?

My wife is Northern Irish and siri has trouble understanding her, if I change her Siri Language to English(Irish) on her phone, but keep mine as United Kingdom, what will the Homepod listen for?

HomePod, 14

There are language or accent preferences. Language is language by words used. I’m not really clear on how this works on HomePod for language. On the written word I use English Canadian so when I write colour it’s how I spell it. If I chose American English it would be color. This spelling gives me a spellcheck.

I think it’s based on how Siri speaks to you, not how you speak to Siri. I could be wrong so you will need to play around with it and see which works best. See how the Irish accent works for your wife,
