TextEdit Save As function

It is driving me totally crazy.. I work with Apple since 1995, so i am probably an 'old-habit-stuck-man' when at work and saving files. But every, every, every, ever, etc... time I save a TextEdit file I press Cmd+Shift+S to save the document (as)...... yes, because i am used to do so with every, every. etc application!

But as I Cmd+Shift+S with TextEdit then there magically pops up a Copy! Why?

...... any one any idea?!

Best, Hans

If you want Save As… back as an option in the File menu options follow these instructions.

Open System Preferences> Keyboard> Shortcuts

Click on App Shortcuts in lefthand column, click the + button,

at Applications: select All Applications.

At Menu Title type in Save As… (press the alt/option key and semi-colon key together,

the three dots after Save As are not periods/ full stops but ellipses)

At Keyboard Shortcut: type in the shortcut, Shift - Command - S

Press Add.
