BlackMagic eGPU Not working on iMovie since Big Sur

Previously I had a BlackMagic eGPU connected to my 2019 MacBook Pro 13 Touch.

No issues using eGPU system recognised the Radeon Graphics card and all Apps had Prefer External GPU

Worked great.

Upgraded to Big Sur and updated iMovie

  • All Adobe Apps had Prefer eGPU
  • As did Quick time
  • System did not recognise EGPU on About This Mac
  • iMovie had no Prefer External GPU option

I changed my display setup then the System in About this Mac recognised the Radeon Card but still no prefer external gpu in iMovies

But the option was available in Quicktime, and all Adobe Apps

I test rendered a 4K short video in iMovies and watching in Activity Monitor. It showed the internal GPU being used.

I also tested it in Photoshop and saw EGPU was being used correctly.

Anyone got a fix for this and I still need iMovies as I cant move all my work to Premier Pro Im just not ready for it.

So please Apple can I have iMovies back..... please, pretty please
