MacBook Air M1 randomly shutting down

I have had my MacBook Air with M1 chip almost a week now and I was sitting here reading a webpage when the MacBook just shut off randomly and rebooted. It is operating off of AC power right now. I have a USB C hub plugged in that powers my mouse and ethernet and sometimes an external display. I only have plugged in what I am using at the time. This concerns me because this MacBook Air is replacing a 2010 MacBook Pro that was doing the same thing.

I had exactly the same issue like others here: Macbook M1 unexpected restarts with pink screen, and the crash report says CPU panic etc. Contacted Apple support since the first month I after purchased and tried a few things they recommended such as Safe Mode, re install Mac OS, run Diagnostic but these did not help. The Authorised Apple repair shop said it was the faulty of Main Logic board.

I had my MacBook replaced but the issue continues within a week of using the new model. The Apple supervisor recon that there was some data I had transfer ( using Migration assistant ) from my 2016 Macbook Pro to my M1 Macbook that the data might not support the new operating system. She recommended me to erase my laptop and manually reinstall the softwares fresh with the current apps and programs that I need.

This is my 2nd week of no crashing, no restarting and hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks for the info, the same issues exist on my M1 Mini but at the same time, they gotta be kidding. That is such a painful fix.

I normally have my laptop connect to a headphones (bluetooth) and a printer (wifi).

I have the same issue, my M1 Pro just shuts down randomly without any warning or error message. No USB devices are connected.

No cost..? Even if you exceed your warranty period...? Just asking because my warranty period is going to end within a couple of week and I am having this 'Pink screen and shut down' problem.

this crashing happens when connected to external monitor via an Apple adapter or via a Kensington adapter, AND when not connected any monitor or any external device - so unfortunately your "solution" does not apply to my issue and likely others

my MacBook air shuts down even when no external display but hasn’t done so the past week or so The measure I have taken is to restart it myself if I been using it for a few hours. My suspicion is that it has something to do with the length of time the mac book had been on and in use!

last update and mac still reboots when I go with mouse in volume bar, 5 10 seconds moving the bar, system restarts… macbook air M1, please guys, solve that. I tried evertyhing, big sur from 0, monterey from 0, and problem remains.

testing for another crashes during the day. Its my work notebook :(

I installed the system from 0, with nothing connected, just wifi, and continued restarting. Same problem
