Add Bluetooth Lightbulb to Apple Home

How can I add my Philips HUE lightbulbs to my Apple Home app?

I am not sure if this is possible. I just have a pair of bluetooth Phillips HUE smart lightbulbs.

To add these to the Home do they have to be a specific type of bulb?

My end goal would be to control the bulbs with my HomePod Mini

If not, does the light switch need to constantly be on? I don’t really understand how the Bulb could function if the regular switch was off. new lights dont appear on homekit Hi! I have HomeKit set up with some Philips hue lights and dimmer switches. I have been using these for a couple of months now. I just added a new hue light and dimmer switch via the hue app. Can someone help me get the new light and switch added to my HomeKit app, please? Apple HomeKit & Light Bulbs Help I purchased the SYLVANIA General Lighting 74988 Smart+ BR30 LED bulbs and was disappointed to learn that I can not control the bulbs when I am away from home via Siri/Home app. I am now looking at the Phillips Hue bulbs. However, it is not clear if you can control the bulbs via Siri/Home app when away from home. Ultimately, I am moving away from my home automation devices coupled with my security system because of the silly monthly fees that are required. However, at the same time, I prefer a seamless integration for all devices. I do not have an appetite to access an app to control the door locks, a second app to control the thermostat, or a third app to control the lights, etc. I am looking for products that integrate seamlessly with the Home app and allow me full control via the Home app. Can some offer a recommendation? Thanks.

The easiest way would be to use the Hue App. Go to the App Store to install on your device. It will then ask you to connect the Hue Bridge. Assuming you have a bridge connected to your wifi router. Then use the app to “add lights”, then put into Rooms. You will be copying the serial number on the bulb into the Hue App
