Changing Messenger notification sound on iPhone 11

I have an iPhone 11 Pro, up to date with iOS. My dog gets freaked out by the sound that plays whenever I get a messenger notification, and I’d like to change it. I’ve searched online, and everything I find seems to talk about changing the default notification sound in settings on the phone, as they all use the same sound. But on my phony Messenger does not play the same sound as when I get a text- which plays the sound chosen in settings for “text tone”. And I can’t find anywhere a setting that has that tone as the option.

Please help!

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see that you would like to know if there is a way to change the sound of notifications received by the Messenger app. We will be glad to assist.

Sounds settings in iOS can only be changed for default applications such as Phone, Mail, Messages etc. For Messenger, we would suggest contacting the app develop to see if there is an option to change the sound of these types of notifications.
