Problem with iCloud

My iMac 27 inch, 2017, on Big Sur 11.2.3

became slow and has a problem with the iCloud.

I am asked to check it out - but can't see a problem.

There ist plenty of space!

Have already set the device up again (starting up wie Command+R)

So I would like to sign out and sign in to the cloud - but this option is not given as it was in earlier Systems.

Any ideas anybody ? - Thank you in advance!

Thank you K_Faith for you answer

I really wasn't able to open documents, or move a doc. into a mail, or save anything...

So I decided do sign off iCloud, and after starting the computer, sign in again.

The only problem: The button is so well hidden, that I had to search a while.-

And every thing worked out well!

Everything tidy, working quickly and in solid manner:

Happy as I'm usually am with my apple devices.

Hello ruthfromche,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with slow performance on your Mac and an issue with iCloud.

Before you take the step to sign out of iCloud, we'd like to learn more about what specifically is happening with your Mac. Learning more about what's going on will help us provide you with the best guidance in resolving this matter, and you may not need to sign out of iCloud.

It sounds like you are seeing an alert or error pop up about an iCloud problem. Please tell us exactly what that alert says when it appears. Also, what are you doing on your Mac when the alert appears?

When are you noticing slower performance with your Mac? This article has a lot of helpful steps and suggestions to help improve your Mac performance as well: If your Mac runs slowly

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
