Copy and paste a list in to one cell in Numbers

Hey Gang, I need help pasting a list from TextEdit into one Numbers cell please. At present, it is splitting it per word per cell. I really need the list to appear in one cell only. I have tried paste (keep formatting), please help me out, what am I missing here :) thanks. x

I cannot explain why it is splitting it into words across the columns. It is natural for it to split it into rows based on the presence of carriage returns. It would normally split it up into columns based on detecting it to be CSV data (comma separated values). Are the characters between the words spaces or something else?


You should be able to put it all in one cell if you double click the cell first to get it into "text edit" mode. You should see the cursor blinking in the cell. Then Paste.
