CleanMyMac found key loggers on my 19,1 iMac w macOS11.2.3 that appear to be Canon Print Driver software?

CleanMyMac found:

Folder called: Free Keylogger

2 files inside:

1. UserRegistration.app

2. com.yourcompany.UserRegistration

Does any have the same files installed on their iMac or Mac?

They look like they were installed by my Canon Driver for my Canon printer.

iMac 27″, macOS 11.2

Are there any AntiVirus, Disk Cleaner, Optimizers, Defrag, VPNs etc installed which should be removed as per Developers Instructions. They are useless, unneeded, cause havoc and interfere with the normal operation of the OS and can even corrupt the OS to the point a Re-Installation is required to put thing right. The Built-in Security of Big Sur is all that is required.

I found nothing. The question now becomes how they got there. It is unthinkable to me that Canon would add something like that to their printer drivers, and that's where you've got your drivers from. So, who would want to install such a thing on your computer? And who has access to it?

The other possibility is, of course, that CMM has had some kind of false positive. Not by any means impossible. Most folks, myself included, regard that app as little more than junk ware.

Where: found them on my iMac within Canon Printer driver installation files.

Why: The logo is a Canon installer icon, and the other file was found in the installer database files in the Canon database installed.

Where: Deep within my system software, a Canon database file

The only place I ever get Canon Printer drivers, at the Canon website for a PIXMA MG 3022 for Big Sur.
