Do I need to transfer system and network information to a new computer?

I assume that you will be using the Migration Assistant app to do the transfer. You will be presented with some options: transfer all of your files, transfer your settings and preferences and transfer your apps. I assume that you will elect to transfer your files. I would transfer my preferences and settings as this would avoid having to reset all of them (unless that is what you want to do for some reason). This will also transfer your system and network information. It merely saves you the time of having to reenter all of that data. As to transferring the apps, that is an individual decision. Some people prefer to reinstall them. In any case, enjoy your new computer.
