Advanced iTunes question

When you sync your iPhone to your computer, is all data transferred safely to the backup folder, or does some data, for instance contacts or passwords, get left in other folders and parts of computer. I’m thinking about selling my computer but have these concerns.

See Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support and check both possible locations where backup data may get stored. At minimum you should optionally archive and then wipe that data, but to be honest apart from deauthorizing your computer you should also reformat the drive and sell it with a clean install of the operating system and nothing else.

Deauthorize, then Sign Out:

When selling your computer, deauthorize your device, sign out of iTunes, and uninstall iCloud

Handling iTunes:

I. Deauthorize the Device:

By deauthorizing the device, it will not be associated with your Apple Account. The next person may authorize it with their own Apple Account, but they may have to wait up to 90 days until they may do so.

  1. Open: iTunes
  2. Go to: Account menu
  3. Hover Over: Authorizations
  4. Select: Deauthorize This Computer...
  5. Log In: Using your Apple ID credentials

then...

II. Sign Out of iTunes:

By signing out, no one can see your purchases.

  1. Open: iTunes
  2. Go to: Account menu
  3. Click: Sign Out

Handing iCloud:

Uninstall iCloud for Windows 10.

  1. Go to: Start menu
  2. Select: Settings
  3. Select: Apps
  4. Select: Apps & features
  5. Click: on the iCloud icon
  6. Click: Uninstall button
