How do I fix the issue where my close-up pictures have clear backgrounds but blurry subjects?
I take hundreds of pictures a day for work (insurance inspections). Rarely had any issues with older models, but got new iPhone 12 and almost all of my close-up pictures are blurry.
Any way to change the settings so that it's like the older models and doesn't try to be "professional" by blurring out half my images?

The blurriness isn't related to photos on the cloud. It has to do with the auto-focus on the new 12s.
The two pictures below are close up photos of roof vents (I take a lot of roofing pictures for my job). Since getting the 12, I've had a hard time taking clear pictures of the vent. The camera wants to focus on the background (the shingles) even when I'm touching the screen to tell it where to focus.
Sometimes standing back a little further than normal and zooming in helps it focus, but that's a pain when standing on a roof in 100 degree heat when I can barely see the screen anyway.
I know the common thought is "user error" - I just know I didn't have this issue on my prior iPhone 10.
Side note....zooming in while taking a video on the iPhone 12 changes the lighting a lot (at least when inside) which makes that feature kind-of unusable.

If your Photos and Videos are stored in iCloud and you share it before downloading the original then it may appear blurry but it is not.
