my iPad screen will not respond to touch, it will wake, but can not respond to gestures

Does anyone know what to do when the iPad simply won't respond to gesture input? I can wake the screen, I've tried the options listed for restarting the ipad but it will not allow any screen input. I can even turn a bluetooth keyboard in and enter the passkey and unlock the screen, but can't then do anything. Siri won't shut the ipad down or respond to commands, it seems to be in a 'crashed' state. I have removed the screen protect etc, the screen is in perfect condition. It's a iPad Pro Gen 1 (2018 model) 11inch.

Follow the all-buttons restart sequence for your iPad here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

iPad models that don't have a Home button: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.

That cleared a stuck screen on an iPad Pro that I recently got to look at... With similar symptoms, too.

If that doesn't work and doesn't clear this and your display screen remains insensitive to touch, then use the Get Support link in the upper right, and discuss your options and alternatives with the folks at Apple.

I will do, although it seems to just say try again later at the mo!

I've even used the bluetooth keyboard to unlock it, cycle through apps, and connected it to a PC with iTunes but it comes up with a 'trust this computer' box on the screen that you can't cycle the option on the keyboard (that I can find). I'll try contacting support.
