Volume drops when listening to Apple Music

I'm starting a song on Apple Music, and after 4 or 5 seconds, the sound volume drops a bit. Not much, maybe 20%, enough to be annoying.

This happens only with songs that are streamed from Apple Music – when I listen to music that is stored locally in my (formarly) "iTunes" library, the volume stays the same.

And also, the volume only drops acustically, the volume slider (on the top right corner of the Music app) does not move visually.

Has anyone experienced the same issue, and found a solution to that?

(Macbook Pro 16" (2019), Big Sur 11.2.3)

This is happening to me too. It's only certain songs and happens in the first 5 seconds of the song. 2020 MacBook Pro, just updated to BigSur 11.6 yesterday.

I just tried your tip and unfortunately it didn't work.

Still at 2 seconds, there is an EQ drop, making the sound flat, causing a drop in volume as a result.

I have the exact same issue. I love Apple Music but the desktop app is really buggy. Here's hoping Apple puts a little more effort into maintaining existing software and fixing bugs in 2022.

I have this too, on two devices. 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max 16", and a ThinkPad running Windows. I don't have Sound Check or the EQ on.

Just switched to Apple Music, and I notice this on my MBP 14". It's happening in my custom playlists created by Apple Music (Favorites, Chill, etc.)
