Local calls being marked as international

My local calls for the area code in my area keep showing up as coming from Canada on the main screen and then the actual location in the call log. Any idea why?

Hey there enzo44,

We'd like to help get your incoming calls to show correctly regarding their location and area code.

Let's start with confirming some details about what's happening, along with ruling out some basics:

  1. When did this first start to occur?
  2. Does it only happen with specific contacts, or all of them?
  3. As you have an iPhone 12 Pro, the latest version is iOS 14.4.2. You can verify the version number installed within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  4. Afterwards, this link shows how to Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  5. Please go to Settings > General > Date & Time. You'll want to check if the settings show correctly after selecting 'Automatic'(if not already) for the time zone.

We look forward to hearing back from you about these details. Have a good one!

Hi enzo44,

Great job on ruling those out as possible causes!

If you haven't yet, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.

If the same issue remains, we recommend contacting your carrier to rule out anything on their end that may be causing this to happen. Here are some things to check with them: account settings, options for your account, service outages, etc.

Afterwards, we recommend reaching Apple Support to let them know what you tried and the details you confirmed with your carrier. Here's a link to get in touch with them: Get Support

Take care.

Thanks for the attempt. Software version is updated as are carrier settings and automatic date and time. It only happens to calls coming from numbers not in my contacts. Happens for each call coming from a number not in my contacts including about 10 minutes ago. Only started happening recently after my last iPhone update.
