These replies aren't helpful. I also have this problem with iPhone XS Max.
The problem occurs when I do a safari search. (Ex: Japanese Yew)
Then I see some ads relevant to my search.
So I click on an ad box (The Tree Center)
Result is "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found."
You can alternatively scroll down your search results until you find a link directly to the website you want and click that, and that will get you there. But clicking on the ad directly should take you directly to the link. It's a pain and it didn't used to do this.
In Safari "settings", I did "Clear History and Website Data", but that did not help.
Something is blocking Safari from allowing us to link a website from an ad.

I am experiencing the same problem. I have clear website data, cleared web browsing and reset my phone. This only happens when I am on WiFi. It just stopped working. I have ATT DSL wireless service.
Usually means you enter the wrong URL.
Open Safari to a new blank page.
Type cnn.com in the address bar.
Look at the address bar after the page opens to see the entire URL.
Safari cannot connect with server
it usually works by clicking on the google icon. This will not work. Kindly assist it’s getting very frustrating
