QuarkXpress 2020 and Big Sur - I'm having errors opening files from computer but ok from Dropbox?

I've just updated to Big Sur and downloaded QuarkXpress 2020 (16.2) - When I try to open any Quark files from my hard drive (iMac) it comes up with an error "This Project is locked. Changes cannot be saved. (315). Then when I do a save as onto my hard drive (or desktop) the error is Access denied (5000).

If I open any Quark files that I have saved in Dropbox I don't have any problems, they open fine. I don't have any problems with any other programs eg. Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator.

I have this problem on 2 computers!

It's really frustrating - I can't seem to find where the problem is - I'd be very grateful for any ideas!

iMac 27″, macOS 11.2

For posterity: QuarkXpress on MacOS Big Sur must be configured to have read/write access to one or more designated "Working Folders". It will only open/save files in these folders, Trying to open an .qxp file from any other folder results in an error "315". Trying to save a .qxp file to a place outside the "Working Folder" results to an error "Access Denied -5000. Unfortunately, however, during installation the working folder was not defined automatically – at least not with QuarXPress 2020 (16.0) directly from the Mac App store.

Open the menu "QuarkXPress > Preferences > Working Folder" (or "QuarkXPress > Vorgaben > Arbeitsverzeichnisse" in German), click the "+" in the lower left corner, an add your User folder /Users/my_name/ and click OK.

After that, you can open and save files anywhere within your User folder hierarchy - including, but not limited to, your Desktop and Documents folders. If you want to open/save to an external drive, say, you will need to add that as another Working Folder, too.
