USB devices on USB-C hub randomly stop working on MBP M1

I found this strange behaviour on my M1 MacBook Pro: I have a USB-C hub (aukey, bought from Amazon) that I use to connect my external HDMI screen, my Scarlett audio interface and the power adapter (so it power directly the sound card while charging the MacBook). The audio card randomly stops working, while the external monitor continue to work. If I disconnect/connect the sound card it's still not working, but it works again if I disconnect/connect the entire USB hub.

Someone experienced this problem too?

Thanks in advance for help!

There are reports that the M1 Macs have some compatibility issues with some USB controller chipsets used in various USB devices. I have only seen some reports on these forums as well as one product vendor posting about the problem. The product vendor mentioned issues with the JMicron USB chipset, but has since removed that notice (either a firmware update resolved the problem, or their products now use a different chipset). A couple technical users performed some tests and also identified the JMicron chipset as a problem as well as some other ones by a different brand, but that was last year and I don't recall the details now. All I know is the ASMedia USB chipset seems to work fine on my external USB devices on my M1 Mac although I haven't used the M1 Mac very much yet.

It could also just be a compatibility issue between your Aukey USB hub and the audio card. Have you tried connecting the audio card directly to the Mac? If necessary use simple adapter to minimize compatibility issues at least for testing purposes.
