Empty box?🥺

Please help me, I order an iphone 12 from apple.com and today I receive an empty box, the box was a brown box and I thought the apple package box was inside that box, the box did felt really light which immediately got my attention but I open the brown box and there was literally an empty clear plastic in the box, I was extremely mad, I contacted fedex immediately and apple too, they both said that they're gonna investigate it, can anyone offer me more advice please? I'm really sad ,it was supposed to be a surprise gift for my wife birthday now it's ruined, I paid almost $1400 cad. Please help me
