I was going to check if there are any updates to my OS and when I selected 'About this Mac' and click on 'Software Update' I get the following screen. I tried this several times even rebooting my laptop but the same screen is coming up. Anyone seen this before? Something is corrupted?
I had the same problem on a 2017 MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13. I fixed it by upgrading my macOS. I was able to upgrade to the latest OS, Big Sur. You can upgrade without using the Update tab. Instead, find the OS you want to upgrade to directly in the App Store (online or in the app).

Thanks for the replies, sounds like this is also happening for others, maybe Apple should look into it.
That is the strangeness I recently see using 10.13.6 or less.

Well, Apple isn't supporting the OSes it happens on anymore, so I doubt it'll be worked on.
Same here on a 2009 Mac Pro and 10.13.6.
Funny how the other pages in the App Store seem to be OK. It's just the update page which is affected. At least the update page remains functional.
Same on Sierra for me too...
Unfortunately my MacBook Pro is JUST below the age for hardware requirements even for 10.14, but looking into getting a newer machine soon as I can.
