Battery draining completely overnight while laptop is closed and power nap option off
Hi there,
I noticed last week that my laptop drained completely overnight while it was closed, not shutdown but closed and sleeping. I often leave my laptop plugged in so I hadn't noticed. I checked online and the advice was to go into System Preferences, Battery and uncheck Enable Power Nap while on battery power. I did this and also in Battery Schedule I set it to sleep automatically at 01:00 just in case it wasn't going into sleep when I close the laptop.
I didn't think about it again but last night I didn't leave my laptop plugged in, my batter was almost full when I shut it - and this morning it couldn't start until I plugged it in.
I'm now a little worried that my laptop is being used remotely. Or that there is something wrong with the battery. Or that despite being closed and scheduled to sleep the laptop is not doing this.
This morning I changed my password.
My laptop is a 2019 macbook prom Mac OS Big Sur 11.2.3
Any advice or insight anyone can give on this would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
