problems sending emails
Updated one iPad to ios14.04 and suddenly am unable to send emails from mail from BT account and iCloud on four devices.
Am receiving emails on all four devices. And am able to send emails using BT webmail.

That implies that the mail client is either not acquiring data from the mail server, or the mail client account settings don't match the server requirements.
Check with your mail provider support folks for the specific setup requirements, as well—some can have their own mail account mailbox setup requirements for inbox, trash, and other folders that can exist on the mail server.
The mail folders present in a mail account on a server are maintained separately from the client mail account settings.

Remove and re-add the mail accounts, and try again.
Thanks, I tried this on one iPad. It didn’t resolve the problem and got rid of all folders in my inbox on that device.
