Thanks so much!

I deleted the Exchange account and re-created it, and things seem to be functioning normally now. Just in case it happens again... The mailboxes are "On my mac". Are they still associated with one of my accounts? How can I tell which one?

MonikaMM,

Thanks for clarifying!

If the emails are stored in the "On My Mac" section, it means they'd be stored on your Mac's internal storage drive and are no longer associated with any specific account.

This is commonly done to free up space, or for long-term storage of an email. If you click the To filed in an email stored in that folder, you would see the original email account it was sent to.

You can see more info about managing mailboxes in the Mail app here:

Take care.

Hi MonikaMM,

We'd like to make sure we're on the same page.

To confirm, you have a Microsoft Exchange account setup in the Mail app. When moving messages from the Exchange account to a folder, the content of the messages disappears?

Additionally, is this to a different folder within the same Exchange account, or to a folder associated with another account such as iCloud or a third-party account?

If you're moving content from one Exchange folder to another, and you check your email on webmail, do the messages display properly then?

Let us know and we'll continue from there.

Cheers!
