iPad Air Screen Cracked on its own

Hi have any of you had this issue? My iPad is in immaculate condition no scratches of anything and it’s always in a full cover case. Last night I put the iPad on charge (in its case) and when I returned and opened the case the screen is cracked. It wasn’t dropped or damaged by myself it was in the same position the whole time. Apple store says it’s ‘accidental damage’ and they want nearly £400 for a new one. It’s still under warranty and as I’ve said I have never dropped it it’s always kept in immaculate condition. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I hate to state this, but this looks a lot like a corner/edge drop to me, as well.

Is there someone else that has access to your iPad that could have maybe dropped this iPad?

The free, one-year standard, limited AppleCare ( NO + sign ) warranty does not cover accidental/incidental iPad damages like cracked screens and bent iPad case/chassis or other non-manufacturing related device damages.
