Apple Pencil 2 isn’t charging.

Hello,


I am having problem with my apple pencil 2.


When I attach it to the ipad Pro 2020, it shows ‘ Apple Pencil’ only. But, it does not show any data regarding percentage of charging. The pencil does not work either.


I tried another apple pencil with the ipad, that works perfectly. So, I can assume it’s the problem with the apple pencil.


Any suggestion why this may happen and how to fix this issue ?

At the bottom of your question, it appears that you're using an iPad Pro 10.5". Should be that model, it cannot support Apple Pencil 2nd generation (only Apple Pencil 1st gen).

Please identify correctly your ipad:--> Identify your iPad model - Apple Support


That said, if you are able to use a different Apple Pencil, it might mean that your Pencil is defective or its battery is exausted.

Have it checked at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider.

Be aware that if your Pencil has been set-aside for an extended period, unused and uncharged, the Pencil battery may now be irretrievably damaged through deep discharge. In common with all Li-ion batteries, they must always have some level of charge.


It is essential that if you have an Apple Pencil that you charge it regularly - whether used or not - so as to protect the battery from deep-discharge. Do not allow a pencil to remain in low-charge state for any period of time - as the internal battery will fail, rendering the Pencil useless. Setting aside an unused Pencil, for extended periods, is a recipe for premature death of the Pencil battery. A second generation Pencil should be docked with the host iPad whenever it is not being actively used, as this will optimally maintain the Pencil battery.


If the Pencil Battery has failed, the only remedy is to replace the Pencil. If the battery has failed and your pencil is within its one-year warranty, you should look to having it replaced by your retailer or at an Apple Store.


Some reports suggest that gentle warming of the Pencil (such as placing the pencil on a hot water radiator) prior to attempting charging can sometimes resurrect a Pencil battery. Whilst nobody should advocate external heating of any Li-ion battery (this being potentially very dangerous), gentle indirect warming of a tiny battery is unlikely to lead to catastrophic failure.

I too am having the same issue with my apple pen 2. also I am using iPad Pro 11 second generation and then the same thing as side the other customer, was saying that it won’t register no data whatsoever I called in Apple support they tried to help me fix it it’s not working I did updates it’s not working what do you suggest or what it is I can do question
