Quicktime cannot see my ipad pro anymore?

Ipad Pro and Quicktime

My lightning cable works but when I launch quicktime and select new movie recording I get the "operation cannot be completed" message? This is new, I have been recording my ipad with Quicktime for over a year everyday. My privacy settings are all set to allow for my microphone, camera, and screen recording to allow Quicktime to be used?

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.11

Thank you for posting Apple Support Communities. We want to help with QuickTime and your iPad Pro. You mentioned the macOS but what iPadOS is currently installed on your iPad? Have you restarted both devices to confirm this continues?
