Carplay whatsapp notifications

From a couple of days when I receive a message on WhatsApp the CarPlay shows the message available to be read.

then, if I let the CarPlay read the message, replying or not, the messages counters remains the same.

For example, even if I listened two messages, the counter on WhatsApp remains 2 or 3 or what else were the messages received.

If I check messages on the phone it’s the same...if I read the messages on the phone, also on CarPlay the counter disappears.

I don’t know if I changed something in my preferences or something is changed in WhatsApp notification preferences...

Greetings gb595,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We can understand the concern with the CarPlay notifications for WhatsApp, and we're happy to help. Does this happen only with WhatsApp, or any other app that you receive notifications from? Is WhatsApp up-to-date? Follow the steps here to check, and update if needed:

How to manually update apps on your Apple device

You also want to make sure that the software on your iPhone is current. You can check and update if needed using the steps here:

Hi Karen,

well, not sure if also sms are affected by the same problem.

Concerning to the phone software, mine is updated, I’ve a 2020SE and no ipdates available, actually I have 14.4.2

A dated WhatsApp was also considered, so yesterday I uninstalled it and re-installed with no changes...today evening I restored all phone settings, tomorrow I’ll try again in the car if

someth is changed.

Ciao Karen,

checked right now, sms counter decrease after reading, WhatsApp one no, keep summarising the messages. 🤔

Moreover, even if read by Siri in car, the messages are not marked as read, neither on receivers devices(they do not see blue flags)

I guess the same should be with normal command of Siri “read the WhatsApp messages”

Ciao Karen,

checked twice, even reading WhatsApp messages by vocal command of Siri, those are not flagged as read and relevant incoming notifications remain on the app.

What’s wrong? If Siri reads a message should do on my behalf, so should also open the messages notifications and flag them as read.

i guess that everything is started with new release 14.4.2🤔
