iPhone 12 Pro Max Camera focus not working

Does anyone know of any alternative app that I can use to focus? I’ve read threads of people complaining about the iPhones 12 pro max built-in camera and from what I’ve read is that Apple is aware of the issue yet have done anything to fix it. How is a $1,000+ flagship phone with 3 cameras not going to support a focus feature.

idk if it’s a software or a hardware issue. But if anyone is trying to buy this phone I’d recommend to skip it until they fix the camera. But I’d still like to see if anyone knows of any other alternative camera apps

How to lock the focus and exposure

Launch the Camera app from your Home screen or Lock screen.
Tap the screen to choose the part of the image you want to focus on and expose.
Tap and hold on your focal point until you see an AE/AF Lock banner appear at the top of the screen, to lock exposure and focus.

This only helps when your focusing on objects that are far away. Not up close. My apologies for the confusion. There’s an issue when it comes to focusing on close ranged objects and it makes it hard when your shopping and rely on scanning the barcode with the phone. Your response works for far sighted objects not for close range.

but I was asking for other applications not the built in camera app. I’ve already exhausted plenty of options that are from the built-in camera and non have worked. Thanks though
