My Apple Watch isn’t telling me who wins competitions, my friends are having to send me a picture so I can see who won/final points.

You mean those notifications are not coming thru, or the whole result is missing. Are the counts still correct under Sharing History > <friend> ?
To check the notifications part, open the Watch app on iphone and check the Notifications > Activity section. Try turning it OFF and then back ON again, and then do the same for Goal Completions and Activity Sharing there too. I dont know if that fixes it but it's easy to test anyway.
If that doesn't help, unpairing and repairing would be the next thing to go for.
