Hi! I would like to purchase a MacBook Air M1 chip with 16gb ram and in whatever color, with all other features in default. When I search in Florida, it seems like only default models are available for in store pickup. Is this the case for all other stores and does this suggest I cannot get a 16gb ram MacBook Air M1 with in store pickup? Thanks!

You have it correct. At present, once you deviate from the 8GB Unified Memory configuration to 16GB Unified Memory configuration then that unit has to be shipped to you.

My thought is it has to be shipped because it is a non-standard configuration but maybe you could arrange for pickup at an Apple Store since that appears to be what you want to do. Hence my previous reply.
Hi thank you for your answer! The reason why I do not want to ship it is that I don't live in US and a friend of mine was going to buy for me. Although he has a ticket and everything, in a case of sudden closing of borders, he would not be able to get the Macbook so I wanted to do in store pickup as a safe solution, after he arrives in US. I will try to call the store and ask them! Thanks again :)
