My backup was lost!!!

How do I get back my backup?

I backup-ed my iPhone SE a few minutes ago and reset it (Erase all content and settings), because I watched a video on youtube that this is the way to lessen the frustrating “other storage”. The video showed that after resetting with a backup, it smoothly came back to normal with lessened “other storage”. But when I did it with my iPhone just now, I couldn’t access the backup because it always say that the phone passcode I was entering was wrong. Then it only showed “set up as new iPhone” so I clicked it. When all was done, my backup didn’t appear and the backup I saved few minutes ago before resetting my phone was gone! Please help! :(((((

Sounds like you maybe forgot the encryption password for the backup. If you selected to encrypt the backup some time ago so that it saved passwords you will have set up a password. Could have been ages ago.

Assuming you are using a computer to backup and restore is the backup there when you click Manage Backups? But you can only use the encrypted backup if you remember that password. Otherwise it is lost.
