"Hey siri" not responding

Lets double check something -

Open Settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ Siri : Here, ensure that Always Listen for Hey Siri is set to ON.

This is a known issue with the American voice for Siri. Chose English, but chose a diff accent that you can understand easily! They're working on the American voices. I chose South American and it's the closest to the normal Siri. It all works after I changed it. Siri reads map directions and texts now

Mine was already on so this didn't work. It started with the latest update of iOS 14.5.1

Same problem on my xr. Little Siri circle thing pops up but does not hear me.
