How to fix "There is insufficient storage space" "revert to server" in Calendar on Mac

Opening calendar, I get the following:

  1. There are no attachments to the invite that are shown in Apple Calendar. This was attributed to over 20M of attachments by other posters.
  2. Original event accepted in August 2020 without issue, now all of the sudden flagging as an error
  3. Not the only time this has occurred over the last , not unique to this invite.
  4. Stalls many operations in Calendar on the Mac, especially syncing.
  5. A problem as far back as MobileMe per Calendar Server Error.
  6. Event has 725 invitees. We have over 350,000 employees so this is not unusual.

This appears to be a fairly significant programming defect in in MobileMe, through .Mac, to iCloud and unfortunately the only remedy seem to be to delete the entire invite series to get past this and allow Calendar to sync with iCloud (aka MobileMe 🙄)

Anyone know of any other way to remedy? Losing data for the sake of a very long standing defect in Apple's internet service is a bitter bite to chew.

Welcome, BillCerniuk!

From your post, it sounds like you are working on adding events to the Calendar app but are experiencing issues. We're glad that you reached out to the Apple Support Communities. We want to try and help you find the answers you need.

What calendar type do you have synced to your Mac? If you're unsure, go to System Preferences > Internet Accounts, and verify which accounts are added on and which show that the Calendar is enabled. If you're using the iCloud Calendar, make sure there is enough available space in iCloud. Here's how to check: Check your iCloud storage usage online or on any device. If iCloud storage is full, follow this guide to Manage your iCloud storage. If you are using your Mac to complete these steps, you can follow these steps to Manage iCloud storage on Mac.

If the problem is with the Mac storage alone, check out these pages with details on How to free up storage space on your Mac and how to Optimize storage space on your Mac.

We hope this information helps you out.

Kind regards.
