It says "There is no USB drive connected to the system. Please connect a USB drive to continue."

but I have seen in all the videos online that they do not need an external drive for this. I want to use the Mac's inbuilt hard drive as I have 900 gigs free..

I'm using a late 2014 Mac mini on a 2.6 GHz Dual core intel i5 8gigs ram

Mac mini, 11.2

Hey there!

According to Apple’s article on boot camp, you may need a usb/external drive, it’s under the “Learn More” section:

Install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468#more

I didn’t see anything specifying a Mac Mini, but if a 2014 model, suspect it would need an external drive to install Windows via Bootcamp.

As so, I’d follow the steps here:

Install Windows on your older Mac using Boot Camp:

https://support.apple.com/guide/bootcamp-assistant/install-windows-older-mac-boot-camp-bcmp09f5f773/mac

Hope that helps!
