iPad blinking white screen w Apple logo

My iPad started blinking on and off with a white screen with the Apple logo appearing then going off and on it hasn’t stopped since yesterday. I tried pressing sleep and home button same time and it didn’t work. Can’t turn it off.


anyone know if there is a quick fix?


bought iPad Christmas before last so it’s 2.5 years old.

If you already tried (to no avail) the correct gestures listed here to perform a "forced" restart of your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (power) button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 20-40 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear).
