New MacBook Air - 2020 (M1) - desktop folders won't move around when I try to drag

New Macbook Air 2020 M1 - I cant move folders around on desktop like I could on previous models. I checked Finder Preferences for "snap back", etc. - - NOTHING. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you! : )

Make sure dragging is enabled.

 > System Preferences >Accessibility >Pointer Control Trackpad Options

Enable Dragging

Click inside the pop-up box and choose an option.
