MacBook Air 2020 i7 unreadable screen on startup

Hello,

when booting up my MacBook Air 2020, i7, BigSure, sometimes the screen becomes unreadable after logging in. I have to brute force shut it down and restart.

This happens randomly after a fresh boot.

Happened both with BigSur and Catalina installed. Both with an external USB hub (Caldigit) plugged in or alone (if external monitor is plugged in via usb hub, shows the very same pattern).

Is this just a random driver not loading properly or should I worry of a possible coming GC failure?

Thanks

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Hi,

It seems to me that it's a hardware related issue.

You'd better contact Apple Support or make Genius Bar reservation if your local retail Apple Store is open or find opened local Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air.
